  • How long does it take to get an appointment with Dr Bindu?

    Dr Bindu will see most patients within 2 to 4 weeks of referral. 


    Rapid Access Appointments (within 24-48 hours) are available to patients with a confirmed or strongly suspected diagnosis of breast cancer or melanoma. 


    Dr Bindu consults at:

    • Murdoch Medical Clinic, Murdoch
    • Perth Breast Cancer Institute, Nedlands
    • Rockingham Specialist Centre, Rockingham
    • Consulting Rooms, Mandurah

    Waiting times for surgery are 4 to 6 weeks. 

  • Which hospitals does Dr Bindu operate at?

    Dr Bindu has regular operating lists at :

    • Peel Health Campus;
    • St John of God Murdoch Hospital; and 
    • Hollywood Private Hospital.

    Dr Bindu operates her public and private patients at Mandurah region at Peel Health Campus.  Her Private patients at Perth metropolitan area who require surgery will be operated at St John of God Murdoch Hospital or Hollywood Private Hospital as per Patient's preference. 



  • Does the practice bulk bill?

    Yes, Dr. Bindu runs her practice on a No Gap Billing policy for Consultations as well as Surgeries.


    Minor procedures performed in the rooms may incur a nominal charge which equates to the value of actual consumables used (that are not covered by Medicare or Healthfunds). 

  • Does Dr Bindu provide GP Education sessions?

    Yes. Dr Bindu enjoys meeting local GPs and can visit your practice for a Lunch & Learn session.

  • What investigations are required for patients with a new diagnosis of breast cancer?

    Breast imaging (mammogram and ultrasound) and biopsy are the standard ‘minimum’ investigations.


    Dr Bindu  will arrange further investigations (including blood tests and staging scans) if required.  

  • Does Dr Bindu see patients for cosmetic surgery?

    No. Dr Bindu does not perform routine cosmetic surgery. 


    If a patient has a concern regarding her breasts on the background of previous cosmetic surgery, Dr Bindu is happy to assess them and treat as appropriate. 

  • Does Dr Bindu offer a Rapid Access Endoscopy service?

    Yes. Dr Bindu will arrange Colonoscopy and Gastroscopy as needed through the hospitals that she works.

  • Can I Bring A Friend or Family Member?

    We encourage a friend or family member accompany you on your consultation with the surgeon. If your family or friends can better understand your condition and treatment, they can also provide suitable help if and when required.

  • Can You Arrange An Interpreter?

    An interpreter can be arranged upon request, typically this is done over the online.

  • Non Surgical Options

    When surgery is recommended, it is often the best treatment, based on the evidence available.

    When considering surgery both you and your doctor will balance the risk of surgery against the risk of not having surgery. 

    There may be multiple other treatments available and your own circumstances may mean you prefer not to have surgery.

  • Can I Bring My Child?

    Whilst we all love children, in the interest of health and safety, children cannot accompany patients in the treatment rooms or be supervised by staff.

  • How Long is a First Visit?

    As a guide please consider the average duration as being:

    • Initial Consultation time - 15 to 20 min
    • Follow Up Consultationtime - 10 to 15 min
  • Patient Support

    It’s not uncommon to be nervous or have questions or doubts prior to treatment.


    It is hard for your doctor to allay your fears or reassure you if you keep your thoughts to yourself.


    Dr. Bindu is compassionate and caring. We encourage you to clarify any of your concerns before you leave the clinic and Dr. Bindu will take time to explain all aspects of your treatment.

  • How Much Will I Need?

    Dr. Bindu runs her practice on a No Gap Billing policy for Consultations as well as Surgeries.

  • Hospital Discharge?

    The patient is  normally discharged from the hospital in a day or two after the procedure. 


    Please refer to any specific instructions provided to you by your specialist doctor,  the  anaesthetist  and the hospital prior to your discharge from hospital. Strict adherance to post-operative instructions will help expedite your recovery time.
